Asia Pacific: Sri Lanka holds food safety event

The 2nd International Conference on Food Quality, Safety and Security (Food QualSS 2018) was held on October 25-26 2018 at Hotel Taj Samudra Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Themed ‘Towards sustainable healthy lives through value chains of quality and safe foods’, the event hosted academics, practitioners, industry experts, policy makers and researchers.

The event was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management with Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka as Hosting partner in collaboration with Department of Food Science and Technology, Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Pakistan as the Academic partner of Food QualSS 2018.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau was the strategic partner of the event.

The Keynote forum was presented by professor Dr. Hami Alpas, Food Engineering Department, Middle East Technical University, Turkey while the conference chair was professor K.K.D.S. Ranaweera, Director, Bandaranaike Memorial Ayurveda Research Institute, Board of Governors in Institute of Food Science and Technology Sri Lanka.
