IOI Loders Croklaan Rotterdam refinery received its first 4,500 metric ton shipment of segregated Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified palm oil from Guatemala.
This palm oil is sourced from the NaturAceites palm oil mill, which obtained its RSPO certification at the beginning of this year with the support of the Solidaridad Farmer Support Program.
The program aims to improve the environmental, labor and social performance of palm plantations in Guatemala through implementation of the RSPO Standard.
IOI Loders Croklaan joined the Solidaridad farmer support program in 2014.
NaturAceites has been proactive in the implementation of best practices with the aim of improving supply chain sustainability.
In less than two years the project resulted in the very first shipment of segregated RSPO certified from Guatemala to Europe.
