Klöckner Pentaplast will introduce its newly developed polyethylene terephthalate (PET)-based technology for yogurt packaging clikPET at Propak Africa 2016 in Johannesburg, South Africa this month.
clikPET embodies polystyrene functionality, complemented by gas and water vapor barrier properties, transport shock-resistance and the ability to bend and click.
This offers increased shelf-life up to 10 days and avoids cup breakage during distribution.
The company says consumers around the world expect natural and healthy products as well as convenience and a fresh, indulgent and appetizing appeal.
Packaging would make the difference: it has to protect its content and not carry potential health risks in itself.
It also has to offer innovative design solutions and innovation in serving – such as multi-packs and multi-chamber packs for greater consumer interaction and engagement.
The new PET-based technology can be used on major form/fill/seal lines, seals, labels and trays.
