Asia Pacific: PepsiCo opens plant in Singapore

PepsiCo opens a plant in Singapore to produce and supply beverage concentrates for Asia Pacific.

The plant will support the company’s performance with purpose goal of transforming its beverage portfolio to reduce calories and added sugars.

It will speed innovation of new product formulations to serve the demands of Asia-Pacific consumers for healthier options.

The plant will support PepsiCo’s goal of having at least 2/3 of its global beverage portfolio volume be at a level of 100 calories or fewer from added sugars per 12-oz. serving by 2025.

Products meeting these guidelines include low or no sugar versions of the company’s existing beverages, and new innovations in hydration and teas, for example, that are coming in the future.

Once fully operational, the site will have about 90 team members from various nationalities.

It is expected to spur economic activity through purchasing from materials and service providers.
