Bosch Packaging Technology and Amcor have developed ZipSpeed to run on Bosch’s new SVE 2520DZ vertical Doy Zip bag machine.
ZipSpeed, a PET/PE laminate that is easy to run, offers excellent seal strength and a smoother appearance when applying reclosable zippers.
They will showcase the system at FachPack in Germany from September 29 to October 1, 2015.
“To maximize performance on the machine, we developed a clever sealing application that eliminates the need to punch holes in order to form and seal the bags,” said Joachim Pietzsch, R&D director, Amcor Flexibles.
“This creates simplified and faster processing.”
In trials, the ZipSpeed material ran at full machine speed of 100 packs per minute.
Also contributing to speed and performance is the ZipSpeed laminate’s wider sealing temperature range than standard materials.
“The ZipSpeed seal temperature range is from 100°C – 180°C, which allows customers to use lower seal temperatures.
The material has high heat resistance for the application of recloseable zippers.
