TÜV SÜD ELAB has developed a voluntary test scheme for companies to test the quality of their products tested at regular intervals by a third party and can proactively communicate their commitment to quality.
Under the test scheme, the experts at TÜV SÜD ELAB prepare a test plan which will be published on the Internet.
The test parameters depend on the products to be analyzed.
The definition of the test scheme considers technical recommendations, such as those by the European Commission.
“The regular, independent and transparent tests carried out by TÜV SÜD ELAB are voluntary for manufacturers and contribute to quality assurance and in-house product control,” says CEO Dr Bernd Roesner.
“Additional analysis like this also serves to inspire consumer trust.”
An information link, which is accessible at any time and can also be called up via a quick response code, is affixed to the product and informs interested parties about the test parameters, test frequencies and products that are tested.
The company will sample products at random, either from retailers or a central warehouse.
“By adopting this approach, we will ensure the integrity of the test samples and independent testing”, adds Minka Schleifenbaum, head of food analytics.
“Laboratory testing focuses in particular on those characteristics that are relevant for product value and quality, such as vitamin, mineral and nutrient contents and microbiological status.”
PM International AG is the first company to have its products, i.e. food supplements, regularly analyzed by TÜV SÜD ELAB.
The transparency provided by these analyses underlines the company’s own quality standards, demonstrating them to consumers.
