Asia Pacific: Tuv Sud extends food safety services in India

The International Accreditation Service has accredited Tuv Sud’s food testing lab in Vizag for a period of three years.

Consequently, food products testing in the lab complies with pre-set standards and lab operation rules of the international accreditation body and ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

The lab has established a quality management system that meets the principles of ISO 9001 and is also certified in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17025.

With India being one of the largest exporters of seafood, this lab presents the opportunity to improve the footprint of Tuv Sud in South Asia.

The accreditation will enable the lab to test seafood, spices, meat, beverage and other products in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 on both national and international test standards. The quality assurance services at the testing lab will act as a quality gate between producers, manufacturers and buyers.

TÃœV SÃœD also provides certification for FSSC 22000, BRC, HACCP, ISO 22000 and IFS.

Some of the globally recognized inspection services from the Vizag lab will include, during production (DUPRO) inspection, initial production check (IPC), final random inspection (FRI), hygiene inspection and loading supervision.
