Bizerba opened a subsidiary office in Singapore in November 2015 to serve the markets in Southeast Asia, South Korea and Japan.
“Southeast Asia is becoming increasingly important for our portfolio. Both in the areas of retail and food processing and in the industrial sector, we have recently recorded strong growth rates,” explains executive partner Andreas Wilhelm Kraut.
“We want to gradually expand our presence and prominence in this economically prosperous region, particularly in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.”
“Other market developments such as South Korea and Japan are also being planned.”
In the Southeast Asian retail trade there is growth potential for Bizerba, particularly in the shift from embedded scales towards modern PC technology.
In food production, there has been an increase in automation and therefore also an increased demand for inspection and trend control solutions.
The company is also benefiting from the rapid expansion of international logistics companies in Southeast Asia, which need specific weighing technology.
All products in the Bizerba portfolio are Unicode-compatible and can therefore display and print Asian languages.
Bizerba achieves around two thirds of its turnover outside of the German domestic market.
It recently took over the Austrian label manufacturer Helf and the French inspection specialists Luceo, and announced in September 2015 that it will be increasing its involvement in the US market.
About 3,400 employees work for the group of companies, which was founded in 1866 and has been family-owned for five generations.
