TÜV SÜD is beginning a webinar series <www.tuv-sud.com/foodwebinar> that addresses food safety for the industry.
The first session entitled ‘How safe is your food packaging? – Steps for ensuring safety and conformity to European Legislations’ will be held on September 30, 2015 at 10am CET / 4pm SGT for manufacturers of plastic and paper packaging products, as well as for customers of packaging products.
Food packaging must comply with changing market needs and its final use while ensuring safety and technological suitability.
Manufacturers and food factories must also seek worldwide acceptance of their food packaging products and materials.
Currently, the most used material in packaging is plastic and paper.
The webinar will highlight the main contaminants and the relevant European legislations on these two materials. Dr. Marinella Vitulli, laboratory manager at pH Lab, from TÜV SÜD in Italy, will address the risk assessment necessary to verify the conformity of product packaging.
The second session ‘How safe is the food you serve? – Steps the hospitality industry should know to ensure good hygiene practice according to European Legislations’ will take place in November 2015.
