Smurfit Kappa has opened its Bag-in-Box plant in Ibi, Spain, meeting a growing demand in the Mediterranean region.
The facility, which has seen an investment of €28 million (US$34.92 million) by the company, is integrating the production of taps and bags under one roof.
The plant’s automated production lines and team produce millions of taps and bags every month in order to meet growing demand in the region.
“This new plant is a big step up for Bag-in-Box activities both within our company and within the Mediterranean region. It couldn’t have come at a better time, when the demand for top-class Bag-in-Box packaging products from a reliable partner is bigger,” said GM Pascual Martinez.
This is another example of how Smurfit Kappa is set to ‘Open the future’ for its customers.
The new strategy focuses on delivering customer growth through insight and innovation.
It is brought to life through a microsite, where a series of films demonstrate how customers across the world have worked in partnership with the company to create innovative solutions which have driven commercial success.
