Menasha Packaging’s PrePrint facility and Folding Carton Group have been recognized by the American Institute of Baking (AIB) International after successfully completing its Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) audit once again.
Both facilities recently underwent a comprehensive assessment where they were evaluated based on the AIB standards for Food Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities.
“The PrePrint and Folding Carton Group facilities both made significant improvements this year aimed at food safety,” said Rory Williams, regional lean and quality manager for Menasha Packaging.
“From revamping the hazard analysis and critical control points program at PrePrint to adding a gated security system, walls around a baler and a new uniform policy for different types of employees at Folding Carton Group, our customers can trust that we are providing them with clean, safe products.”
The AIB and its GMP criteria are based on current federal guidelines and industry best practices.
Passing the assessment confirms that a facility has good manufacturing processes in place, and that it can provide clean, food-safe packaging products.
AIB auditors evaluate the following areas: operational methods and personnel practices, maintenance for food safety, cleaning practices, integrated pest management, and adequacy of prerequisite and food safety programs.
