Xitron, a developer of raster image processor (RIP) and workflow products for the printing industry, introduces Navigator F/P, a prepress workflow and tool kit for flexographic and packaging applications.
The tool kit is designed to be compatible with virtually every output device used in flexographic and package printing companies worldwide.
“Looking at the high cost of software currently available, we recognize an opportunity to provide an economical alternative to a growing user base,” said Karen Crews, president of Xitron.
“Applications similar in scope to Navigator F/P are typically priced two to three times higher, putting them out of reach for small and mid-sized environments.”
Navigator F/P combines the stability of the Harlequin RIP, the performance of the Navigator workflow, and the power of an Adobe Illustrator plug-in to create film- or plate-ready artwork in logical, efficient steps.
The Illustrator plug-in provides tools familiar to the operator while the intuitive workflow graphic user interface or GUI offers start-to-finish control over each job from any workstation.
Precise, automated step-and-repeat with bleed control, nesting, .dxf import, and custom bearer bars are part of the standard feature set in Navigator F/P.
It also includes integrated, raster-based trapping.
Optional vector-based tools offering superior control and versatility are available.
Navigator F/P will be introduced at ExpoPrint 2014 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
