James Cropper’s paper that is made from cocoa husks has been awarded the 2014 Shanghai LUXE PACK in green award in China.
This cocoa paper, currently used in chocolate and chocolate packaging industries, contains 10% cocoa husk content and is certified for direct food contact.
It contains natural biodegradable components, is fully recyclable, and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council US.
“We liked this innovation developed through collaboration between a manufacturer and a customer outside of the industry” said Frederic Lieberman, the jury president of the awards.
Other nominees for the green award include:
– The T-ECO pot by Aromatic Shanghai Co, which is made of recyclable polypropylene materials with a rechargeable clip for users to replace and fill easily.
– The bamboo triangle display by Mingfeng Packaging Manufacturer, which is a box that can be assembled and disassembled with magnets.
It has three identical bamboo parts to reduce production and transportation resources needed.
– The ONE box by ZRP, which is made of recycled Kraft paper.
It is not printed nor contains foil to reduce the amount of resources used
