Africas: Woolworths’ to get FSC-certified labels

Avery Dennison Corporation and Rotolabel will provide responsibly-sourced label materials for Woolworths South Africa.

In this collaboration, Avery Dennison will provide Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified materials to Rotolabel, which will convert them into labels customized to Woolworths’ requirements.

The FSC certification provides consumers the assurance that the paper material used is made from wood from responsible sources.

As part of the collaboration, Avery Dennison will provide Rotolabel various price-neutral FSC-certified facestocks, adhesives and liners to be converted into labeling solutions for Woolworths Foods brand of quality products.

Avery Dennison has more than 170 FSC-certified products.

FSC is considered the most rigorous, credible forest certification system available, promoting environmentally sound, socially beneficial and economically prosperous management of the world’s forest.

Its chain-of-custody certification process traces the path of products from forests through the supply chain, verifying the FSC-certified material is identified or separated from non-certified material throughout.
