Europe: Tetra Pak releases eBeam-based filling machines

The full range of Tetra Pak E3 machines, which is based on eBeam technology, is now ready for customer rollout.

Manufacturers can now produce all types of beverage products on an eBeam-based filling machine, both ambient and chilled, and in family or portion sized packages.

“The use of eBeam in the packaging material sterilization process will help the customer to cut operational costs by as much as 20%, while reducing the environmental impact, making water recycling easier and lowering energy consumption,” says Charles Brand, executive VP product management and commercial operations.

Aseptic carton filling machine, Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper, is among the latest introductions to the range.

It has a capacity of 40,000 ambient portion packages per hour, more than 60% faster than its next nearest carton packaging rival.

This is possible with eBeam sterilization, which completes the task more efficiently and more rapidly than has previously been possible.

Also making its debut in the range is the Tetra Pak E3/Flex which will produce a new chilled family package, the Tetra Brik 900 Ultra Edge.

It has a shape that is taller and slimmer than many family size carton packages on the market.
