Coffee roaster, Purssells London, is getting pouches for its specialty blends from flexible packaging group, UNI Packaging.
Launched last year, Purssells has six roasts that make up its off-the-shelf range.
The company’s bespoke service can craft each coffee to a customer’s specific requirement from roast, grind and brew to tasting notes and price point.
Following trials, UNI Packaging manufactures Purssells’ pouches from a polyethylene/aluminum laminate.
Incorporating a tear notch, re-close zipper and venting valve, the pouches are digitally printed by UNI Packaging’s Digiflex.
Purssells successful entry into the booming UK coffee market has provided UNI Packaging with follow-on pouch orders, in part due to Purssells popular Queen’s Indian blend.
“This is a success story about a large multi-national manufacturing group assisting a UK start-up to find a practical packaging solution – including materials, print options, pack format and a venting valve – and thereafter providing added-value to their supply chain through ongoing support, advice and quality of product,” said UNI Packaging’s Mike Davison.
