Rexam hosted a craft beer masterclass for craft brewers at its newly expanded Graphics & Design Centre at European HQ, Luton, UK.
Eleven customers were shown the full can manufacturing process, from concept of the design to the delivery of cans.
At the class, they gained a higher understanding of the functionality of the can as a packaging format and the 360o design potential – key for small brands with limited marketing spend.
Experts at the center introduced different can sizes and finishes to attendees, and translated their brief into a design that will stand out on the shelf.
In the last year Rexam designers have worked with over 100 customers at Luton, with 80% of them giving the center five stars for quality of service.
Having been a major trend in the US, the craft beer industry in the UK is predicted to grow by 18% from 2014 – 2018 and according to the Brewers’ Association, is one of the fastest growing sectors.
