At Vitafoods in Geneva, SternMaid will be showing processing powdered foods, food ingredients andĀ supplements by means of fluid bed technology.
The contract manufacturer will also present its range of services from purchase of raw materials, product development and warehousing to co-packing.
Fluid bed technology can be used to achieve optimal adjustment and standardization of product attributes.
Through drying, coating, agglomeration or granulation it permits the manufacture of products with optimum distribution of their active ingredients.
Moreover, the products are dust-free, have excellent tabletting properties, do not separate, or may have precisely defined solubility.
Since the drying temperature is controlled specifically, the products are exposed to only moderate heat between 30Ā°C and 50Ā°C.
In this way the functional and nutritional properties of the ingredients are preserved.
SternMaid also offers professional co-packing.
On sophisticated packaging lines, retail containers such as cans, tubular bags or folding boxes can be filled flexibly in sizes from 50 to 5,000 grams.
āWe have recently enlarged our plant to include a fully automated can filling line that can fill up to 90 cans a minute,” says Mark Riemer, commercial director.
“We have also invested in a wrap-around packaging machine and a buckling arm robot for palletizing.”
