Asia Pacific: Testing laboratory for AHAVC opens in Thailand

UL, a global safety science organization, has opened a laboratory in Samut Prakan, Thailand.

The facility will serve as UL’s regional hub for testing appliances, as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning or AHVAC equipment, across diverse industries.

Bolstered by world-leading economic growth, demand for AHVAC safety and energy efficiency testing services in ASEAN has continued to surge over the years.

The 720 sqm site provides safety, energy efficiency and performance testing services to ensure that products and services meet global regulatory compliance and inspection standards.

The facility has five and 10 ton test chambers for HVAC products, washing machine testing chambers, as well as testing capabilities for ingress protection, refrigerant leakage, locked rotor, electricals and materials.

Accepted product categories include: residential and commercial air conditioners, washing machines, tumbler dryers, refrigerators, freezer and motor compressors.

UL first opened its Thailand office in 2006 and has since expanded its facilities and doubled its headcount.
