Europe: Nestlé to sell French ice cream brand

European food service operator Brakes Group plans to acquire ice cream factory Davigel from Nestlé.

The acquisition would increase Brakes Group’s presence in France, allowing the group to enter Belgium and Spain.

It will also bring Davigel’s food manufacturing capabilities into the group for it to distribute Nestlé’s branded ice cream to the out of home market in France exclusively.
