Americas: Meat and poultry processor installs Linde’s IQF freezer

Meat and poultry processor Pocino Foods has installed individual quick freezing (IQF) technology from Linde LLC.

The Cryoline CW (Cryowave) IQF freezer keeps IQF products separate as they freeze with a patented rolling-wave action.

This tunnel freezer offers efficient heat transfer and can provide significant cost savings versus IQF flighted freezers.

While flighted freezers have been the primary method for individually quick freezing foods for more than 25 years, they are prone to carbon dioxide (CO2) snow build-up, and are quickly being replaced with more efficient methods.

“The Cryowave eliminates CO2 carryover and areas that can trap food particles, which helps reduce the chance of contamination while maximizing yields,” says Mark DiMaggio, head of food and beverage for Linde.
