Europe: Bavaria awards Krones the OHRIS certificate for occupational safety

Krones has been awarded the Occupational Health and Risk Management System (OHRIS) certificate by the Bavarian state government for its commitment to occupational safety.

An audit of Krones’ OHRIS:2010 occupational safety management system at the facilities in Neutraubling and Nittenau had already been completed in January 2014, under the aegis of the Regensburg Factory Inspectorate.

This was followed in March 2014 by the facilities in Freising and Rosenheim, whose OHRIS occupational safety management systems were validated by the government of Upper Bavaria and the Munich Factory Inspectorate.

OHRIS is the Bavarian state government’s management system for more health at the workplace und enhanced safety of the technical systems involved.

OHRIS has been developed by the Bavarian Ministry of State for Labour and Welfare together with companies and the relevant trade associations. The system is a corporate occupational safety management system, responsively tailored to the needs of the business community, which at the same time also demonstrably satisfies national and international standards for health and safety.

The concept focuses on the safety level of technical systems and a sustainably effective improvement in protecting the staff from work-related hazards.

Since 2009, Krones has been purposefully upgrading its Integrated Management System (IMS), which also includes its efforts to continually improve the workplace environment for its employees.
