Americas: Bluestar Silicones launches products for labels at US exhibition

Bluestar Silicones introduced a premium release additive and a crosslinking agent for solvent-borne silicone systems for a
range of label applications at Labelexpo Americas 2014 from September 9 to 11, 2014 in Rosemont, Illinois, US.

Bluestar Silicones ADD 398 is a premium release additive that is designed to reduce release force and provide a premium
release for a range of solvent polymers.

It is used at 1-2% addition levels.

Bluestar Silicones XL 311, a crosslinking agent, was developed for use on polyethylene coated kraft paper.

It provides low-temperature cure and strong anchorage to the substrate material.

Both innovations were developed specifically to meet the needs of Far East manufacturers.

However, they are potentially commercially available throughout the world including Europe, pending registration of the
materials at Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals or REACH.
