Europe: Sirane unveils Ice-Mats that chill seafood while being transported

A new addition to Sirane’s Sea-Fresh range has been designed to help maintain the freshness of live seafood during transportation – and increase its value when it goes to market.

The new Ice-Mats maintain a supply of fresh saltwater throughout the journey, enhancing the condition, presentation – and ultimately price – of live seafood.

The Dri-Fresh Sea-Fresh Ice-Mats are soaked in saltwater and then frozen.

Once frozen, they are laid over the crates containing live seafood – during the transportation process the mat will slowly release the water, helping maintain the seafood’s freshness.

Crustaceans such as lobster and crab remain chilled, and the saltwater’s staggered release means that the product remains in a premium condition.

The company provides custom sizes and a range of absorbency levels are available with this product.
