Americas: Brazilian dairy company Sabe opts for filling technology from SIG Combibloc

Brazilian dairy company Sabe Alimentos Ltda is opting for the filling technology from SIG Combibloc with two filling machines operating at its Muribeca factory to produce Sabe and Sabidinho branded products.

These products are protected and packaged for long life in aseptic carton packs from SIG Combibloc.

The Sabe brand milk mix drinks and various types of ultra high temperature milk in different fat content grades are set to be filled in the carton pack combiblocMidi 1,000 ml using the filling machine CFA 812.

The company uses a filling machine CFA 712 to fill a Sabe brand cream, and Sabidinho brand milk drinks, in the small-format carton pack combiblocSmall 200 ml.

The beverages for children come in chocolate, strawberry and banana flavors.

“We decided to opt for the filling technology from SIG Combibloc because we’re impressed by the flexibility and efficiency of the system,” said Albergio de Lima, executive director at Sabe Alimentos.

“And that’s crucial in Brazil’s very dynamic dairy industry. As a dairy company, we have to be able to react very flexibly to the requirements of the market, and at the same time we need to operate profitably.”

“Using one machine, we can fill a range of formats and volumes. And when it comes to product and decor too, with the filling machines from SIG Combibloc we have plenty of options”.

Sabe Alimentos, a company of the Albano Franco Group, produces condensed milk, UHT milk and milk mix drinks.

It employs 300 workers at its €50 million (US$68.6 million) factory in Muribeca, Brazil that began production in April 2012.

The plant processes 330,000 liters of milk daily.
