Europe: Lyckeby products expand footprint with Ingredion

Ingredion and Lyckeby are collaborating to ensure food producers in countries across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) have improved access to Lyckeby’s broad portfolio of specialty potato starch ingredients.

This, coupled with Ingredion’s texture and application expertise, will open-up new possibilities in various food applications including meat, cheese, batters and breadings.

The specialty potato starch range, which will continue to be sold under the existing Lyckeby brand names, will enable Ingredion to provide food manufacturers with extended functionalities including improved crispiness in low moisture systems, processability in savory applications, and control of melt and stretch in cheese analogues.

Founded in 1927, Lyckeby is owned by around 600 potato growing farmers across Southern Sweden.

The company manages and operates the supply chain from seed cultivation to the highly specialized production of food ingredients, enabling them to control from the raw material to quality and traceability.
