Asia Pacific: Ingredion opens factory in Thailand

Ingredion has opened a facility in Kalasin, Thailand, completing an investment of approximately USD$30 million to produce Novation functional native starches for clean-label food and beverage formulation.

The investment was part of the approximately US$100 million of worldwide capital expenditures announced in September 2014.

The project commenced in August 2014 with over a million man-hours involved without any injuries upon completion.

Within 2.5 years of its approval, the facility has successfully produced its first batch of locally sourced Novation functional native starches.

Ingredion operates four facilities in Thailand with over 800 employees.
