Americas: Brazilian company uses Green Plastic packaging

O Boticário’s Cuide-se Bem haircare line has a new look with plant-based plastic packaging.

Green Plastic, as it is known, is made of sugarcane ethanol and is 100% renewable.

The product created by Braskem captures and fixes carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere, which contributes to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions.

With the same characteristics of traditional polyethylene, the sugarcane-based packages will avoid the emission of about 3,000 mt of CO2 every year.

To help consumers recognize the product at the time of purchase, O Boticário created the ‘Com Plástico Vegetal’ (‘With Plant-Based Plastic’) icon, which guarantees the origin of the packaging.
