Americas: Honeywell goes digital with refrigerant apps

Honeywell releases a suite of digital tools to help professionals in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning or HVAC industries find the right refrigerants for the right situations.

These apps—compatible with iPhone, iPad and Android devices—guide users through the criteria they need to consider when choosing a refrigerant.

With the Refrigerant Selection Tool app, users can know what is available now to replace refrigerants that are being phased out in applications, have product comparisons and enjoy a built-in calculator to determine how much new refrigerant is needed to replace the old.

The distributor locator shows users where they can buy Honeywell refrigerants in their area, which is available on iTunes and Google Play.

HVAC mechanics have traditionally carried pressure-temperature charts on paper when they were on the job.

The PT Chart app provides a digital alternative with a colorful display in which users can select a refrigerant and get all of the data they need to perform their tasks in the field.

They can calculate superheat and subcool averages to set the right controls.
