Americas: Amcor Rigid Plastics buys company

Amcor Rigid Plastics has purchased Plastic Moulders, a privately held Toronto-based custom precision molding business for CAD38 million (US$30 million).

Plastic Moulders specializes in providing design, engineering, molding and assembly services for consumer packaged goods customers in the health, beauty, food, pharmaceutical and industrial markets.

The company makes containers and closures for the food and home/personal care markets in North America.

It has a plant in Toronto, Canada and has sales of approximately CAD35 million.

“This acquisition will continue our growth strategy,” said Mike Schmitt, Amcor Rigid Plastics president.

“Plastic Moulders’ technologies and superior technical capabilities will strengthen our business portfolio.”

“We will be able to offer additional innovative products and services to customers globally.”
