Americas: IFF opens flavors facility in the US

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) has opened a new flavors facility in the US near Chicago.

The new site, located in Schaumburg, IL, will serve the food and beverage industry located in the greater Chicago area.

The facility houses a culinary center and application and flavor creation laboratories.

It will increase the company’s application and technical footprint and be staffed with culinary, flavorist and product application teams closely linked to IFF’s regional and global research and development sites.

“Providing excellent support to our customers that allows for greater collaboration and increased speed-to-market is a priority for us,” said CEO Andreas Fibig.

“As the new office expands our coverage in the region, it simultaneously provides customers with local culinary, applications and flavors expertise along with access to our regional and global resources.”

“This site is centrally located to many key customers in the Midwest region of the United States, and allows us to partner more closely with them to collaboratively build healthier taste solutions that help differentiate their brands,” said Matthias Haeni, group president, flavors.

Over the last few years, the company has made several large investments to support key markets.

This includes investment in Indonesia for a manufacturing facility and creative center; sales office and applications labs in Chile, the opening of a liquid flavors and fragrances manufacturing facility in Singapore; the construction of a new flavors creative center and expansion of the existing manufacturing site in Gebze, Turkey; and the construction of a new dedicated flavors plant in Guangzhou, China.

In addition, the company opened new creative and technical facilities in Delhi, India; in Guangzhou, Beijing and Chengdu, China, and in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
