NewPage Corporation introduces Reflections, a 89 gsm high gloss cast coated alternative label paper designed for high-end wet glue and pressure sensitive applications that require smooth printing and a mirror gloss appearance, such as spirits, wine and pharmaceutical labels.
The label paper resembles cast coated grades with surface uniformity and it has a high gloss effect achieved without the use of varnishes, ultra violet or aqueous coatings.
Reflections is Food and Drug Administration-compliant for direct and indirect food contact.
“Label printers and pressure sensitive laminators have long sought alternatives to traditional cast coated label papers, seeking new options that perform well and broaden their luxury label offerings,” said Ed Buehler, VP of specialty papers.
The label paper is available with third-party chain-of-custody certifications to the Forest Stewardship Council, the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.
