Americas: Menasha Packaging plant expands graphic display capabilities with new machine

Menasha Packaging’s Yukon plant in Pennsylvania, US has a new large-format Automatan litho labeler that reportedly boost throughput by 50%.

The system accommodates blanks that are about 40% larger than the facility’s previous litho labeler, while still being able to handle smaller format sheets if needed.

The new litho labeler is phase one of Yukon Plant’s efforts to ramp up its retail point-of-purchase display capabilities.

Phase two consists of a new high-speed Bobst Mastercut die cutter.

“The new die cutter will further increase throughput, as well as improve safety and ergonomics,” says Jeff Rega, operations manager at the company’s Western Pennsylvania Complex.

“In addition, the die cutter will match the format size of our new litho labeler, and allow us to deliver consistent quality and speed for our customers.”

The Bobst Mastercut die cutter is expected to be up and running at the plant later this summer.
