Europe: MM Karton introduces cartonboard grade for food safety

The new cartonboard grade FOODBOARD has been designed as to further protect cartonboard packed foodstuff, says MM Karton.

Its core component includes an ecologically sensitive and consumer-friendly barrier concept, thereby shielding packaged food from unintended substances in the packaging environment.

The company says long-term series tests have been successfully completed and a capital investment in a mid-double-digit million euro amount has been approved.

At the end of 2014, FOODBOARD will be supplied from the Austrian parent plant of MM Karton in Frohnleiten.
